Dan Garver

Winemaker and Co-owner

Baltic Mill Owner and Winemaker Dan Garver has spent almost his entire life in Tuscarawas County. A graduate of Indian Valley North High School, Dan went on to receive a BA in Biology from Muskingum College (University) and his MT(ASCP) from Southwest General Hospital School of Medical Technology. Dan has worked in hospital laboratories around northeast Ohio, and was a Technical Sales Representative selling microbiology products to hospital laboratories for over 30 years.

His interest in biology naturally evolved to include the process of turning fruit into wine. Using his laboratory training and a discriminating palate, Dan developed the techniques of creating wines that suited his tastes, and hopefully the tastes of his future clients.

Throughout their marriage, Dan and his wife, Judy, shared a dream of owning a winery in California. They finally realized that dream -- minus the California part -- when they opened the Baltic Mill Winery in October of 2014. Production began at that time and and has increased dramatically in the months since.

Dan 's goal is to provide his customers with of a unique building, friendly people and well made wine.
